My name is Darren Moffatt, and I’m your editor. I’m also the founder and managing director of Seniors First – a financial help service for people over 60. We have a great team and are proud of the work we do: all of our staff have been fully trained and accredited by the industry body, SEQUAL. Why launch Reverse Mortgage Watch?
Many seniors complain that it’s difficult to locate quality, up-to-date information on reverse mortgages. I hope to change this by personally editing this website, Australia’s first ‘blog’ on reverse mortgage and equity release finance.
What is a blog?
A ‘weblog’, or ‘blog’ for short, is a new kind of website that allows for constant publication of new information, and importantly, for readers to particpate in the conversation by contributing comments or ‘posts’. My hope is that people will use this site to talk about their experiences with reverse mortgages – the positive and the negative – and thereby help others to better understand this relatively new area of lending. (You can make a ‘post’ or comment on this site anonymously, or under a pseudonym if you wish).
What are the objectives of Reverse Mortgage Watch?
The main aim of http://www.reversemortgagewatch.com.au/ is simple: to educate and inform on the topic of reverse mortgages. By sharing my expertise with the public, I hope to create a convenient information resource that people can trust. On this blog you will find:
- The latest news in reverse mortgages and equity release finance
- Commentary on the industry developments, as they happen
- Expert tips on how to save money and properly structure new loans
- Real feedback, from real people
- Regular interviews with other experts
Reverse Mortgage Watch can also provide you with a FREE Loan Check. If you’re thinking of establishing a reverse mortgage, or you would like to check your existing loan, we’ll give you an assessment of the lender and let you know if there might be better alternatives available. Check your loan here
No matter where you are around Australia, I hope this information helps with your reverse mortgage research. Feel free to post a comment describing your thoughts on this site, or any suggestions for improvement. Finally, you’re welcome to email me privately at email@example.com if you have a question or need some confidential guidance.
